According to the Internal Revenue Service, in 2010 tax refunds for undocumented workers cost American taxpayers $4.2 billion. It seems that the undocumented workers are using a loophole in the tax code to claim lots and lots of children to beef up their refunds.
They start by using an individual taxpayer identification number or ITIN rather than a social security number. There’s a simple reason for this; as undocumented or illegal aliens they can’t get a legal social security number. The IRS allows this sleight-of-hand because the law allows it. READ MORE
