“High Speed Rail Plan is Delusional”, so said a June 8th editorial in the Mercury News, one of the California Bay Area’s most influential newspapers.
With all of California’s many financial woes, Governor Jerry Brown and the supporters of high speed rail continue to push for spending $68 billion in taxpayer dollars for this boondoggle. Does he really expect California voters to go for this impractical project at the time that they’re being asked to vote for new taxes?
In a June 2nd poll of Californian voters, 59% were opposed to the project if it was placed on the ballot once again. The public was treated to front page headlines that all featured the public’s lack of support fot high speed rail. READ MORE
