A Few of the 23 Million

This very powerful video was recently published by the Romney Campaign. It was specifically created for Iowa but it could have been anywhere in the United States. The three different individuals in this video are just a few of the 23 million Americans who are either unemployed or underemployed. They have seen their lives and livelihoods virtually destroyed by the inept government in Washington.

In the 3 1/2 years that Barack Obama has been President, his administration has spent very little time on the issues of jobs and the economy. If you think that the stimulus bill was about jobs and the economy, think again. In fact, it was more about rewarding groups that had supported Democrats in the past than about solving the unemployment issue.

Yes, we all know that Obama inherited a bad situation but we live in a ‘what have you done for me lately’ society and Barack Obama has done nothing for America. His vision of America is not our vision for America. It seems that his only objective is government control of our lives and of course, getting reelected.

Most Americans want to make their own way in life and not be wards of the state. We have a fundamental disagreement with the liberals on the left. They see government as the solution to every problem in America. If there is an issue with parenting, they want the schools to take care of it.

High unemployment? Let the government create programs for short-term employment and expand unemployment benefits. In the state of Washington, who would want to work when they can collect $600 per week in unemployment benefits? That’s $31,200 per year. Nice pay for not working.

I have to admit that I cried when I watched this video. To me, it represents that destruction of an America that we all love. We all hope that we’ll see that America again. We all deserve a leader who believes in that America, and it’s not Barack Obama.

The “Doorbell” Video

Power Line Blog held a prize competition for $100,000 for whoever could most effectively and creatively dramatize the significance of the federal debt crisis. Any creative product was eligible: videos, songs, paintings, screenplays, Power Point presentations, essays, performance art, or anything else.

Several entries have gotten a lot of attention and a lot of views or listens. But unquestionably, the one that has most gone viral so far is Doorbell. It is very short, and won because of the very end.

I’m writing this while I watch this video. I found it powerful and compelling. If you look at nothing else today, look at this. It’s a scathing indictment of the current system of our government. The author is Doctor Jim Garvin.

The British National Party introduced this little ditty on February 24, 2011 and it has been viewed by an astounding 107,755 people and counting. The BNP is the ultra-nationalist party in Britain. One of the tenets of their party is to deport all “foreigners” and preserve Britain for the Britons. This is just one of several songs that they have introduced in Britain.
